INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR EXTREME SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING

An International competition for extreme skiing and snowboarding "The Mad Goat Ride will take place from 19th till 22nd of February 2004, on the Northern slopes of Todorka peak (2748 m), with a starting point 30 minutes hiking from the top chair-lift
station. The start will be at 2748 m. above see level; the Finish will be at 2440 m. above sea level. The Vertical drop is 330 m.

Thursday (19 February):
11:00 -16:00 Free time Freeriding Bansko backcountry
18:30- 20:30 Competitor briefing at Hotel
Friday (20 February):
9:30 -12:00 Mandatory Training (Course inspection)
12:00 -16:00 Qualification Run
19:30 Qualification Results announced at Hotel
Saturday (21 February):
12:00 Start Final Run
20:00 - 24:00 Prize giving ceremony and X-ski Party
Sunday (22 February):
Weather date - in case of bad weather on Saturday
Regulations
There will be 2 runs. In the first run will start participants, who have reviewed and signed an agreement with competition rules for the "The Mad Goat Ride". In this run will compete 45 skiers (men and women) and 15 snowboarders (men and women). They will be appointed according to the order of signing in for the Competition.
Since the contest will be organized according to IFSA Big Mountain Free skiing Contest Guidelines the competitors will be judged according to IFSA Competition Rules in the five categories: Choice of Line; Control; Fluidity; Technique; Aggressiveness.
Every competitor will receive a photo of the curse with marked No Fall Zones on the Technical Conference before the competition. The best 16 men (skiers and snowboarders) and 4 women (skiers and snowboarders) will compete in the second
(final) run.
In case of bad weather or snow conditions, that prevent the final run starting, the results from the first run will be taken as final stranding results.
Note: If a competitor is late for his/her starting, 5 (five) penalty points will be subtracted from his/her result.
Age requirements
Competitors should be with a minimum age of 18, in case of approval by the parents with a minimum age of 16.
Equipment requirements
- Helmet - certified ski-racing helmet
- Backbone protector or hard backpack protecting the spine from injury
- Avalanche beacon
