GOLF PROJECT PROPOSED FOR RAZLOG AREA

Construction firm Balkanstroy has teamed up with Barage to develop a project for a golf course near Razlog, South-western Bulgaria, said Nadia Dinkova, a Balkanstroy realtor. The Pirin Golf Holiday Club, estimated at 100 mln levs, should be completed by '08. Holm Group of Iceland recently presented to the municipality of Pavlikeni, Central North Bulgaria, plans for the construction of a golf course and related facilities on a 100 ha site near the city. Bulgaria has 3 completed golf courses: air carrier Air Sofia owns the courses in Ihtiman and Sliven with a third operating near Elin Pelin. The golf course projects in the pipeline include the Cliff Golf Holiday Club near Balchik and the project of Spain's Ferry Group for a golf course near the village of Katina, in the Sofia area.
