Bansko Jazz Fest
Bansko Jazz Fest is being organized by Foundation “Bansko 21st century” every year since 1998. The unique invent offers six days in a row- jazz under the stars amidst unforgettable nature.
Bansko jazz fest gives opportunity to “the music of free people” to reach the general public. Since the very beginning the festival has already many friends.
This year the fest will take place from 8th till the 13th of August. The concerts will be in open at the center of the town and the audience will enjoy it for free. The eighth jazz festival will be opened with a concert of Georgi Borisov band, Mario Stanchev sextet and Stoikos Pantelis quartet.
As a tradition musicians from more than 11 countries from all over the world will participate in the festival. This year Kamelia Todorova, Vasil Petrov, Mario Stanchev sextet and Angel Zaberski quintet are among the stars who will represent Bulgaria on the fest.
Participants from Belgium, Hungary, France, Germany, Greece, Macedonia, Holland, Egypt, Czech Republic, Austria and Bulgaria will attend the event.
Last year the fest was marked with the opening ceremony of the monument of Ludmil Georgiev- doyen of the Bulgarian jazz. His monument is the first one on the alley of glory. The alley is about to be completed with images of Bulgarian and foreign jazz musicians. Fans from all over the world were able to watch the event thanks to the live internet broadcast www.banskojazz.com.
The jam sessions were also warming up the party atmosphere in the famous resort.
The closing of the festival was an “open final” between jazz, ethno, pop, soul and even rap.
