THE PISTES IN PIRIN ARE READY

Bansko is ready with its pistes for the possible host of the winter Olympics in 2014, announced the mayor of the municipal Alexander Kravarov. They are already licensed from the world ski federation. Bansko can host the slalom competition, giant and super giant slalom. A super modern biathlon track with a 32 corridor shooting range is also ready. I is also approved for competitions from the World cup and Olypics.
Bansko is ready to accommodate sportsmen, but according to IOC’s rules all of the competitors have to be in one place. In that case after the candidature is from Sofia- all of the participants have to be accommodated in the capital.
If we really want winter Olympics, the government has to invest a lot of money in infrastructure, said the mayor of Bansko.
At the moment Bansko offers 65 kilometers of pistes and ski tracks. 44 cannons for artificial snow are servicing 30 kilometers of them. There are pistes for snow board. Platoto offers great conditions for extreme ski sports. The capacity of all the equipment allows the ski zone over Bansko to host 6000 skiers.
