Snow show with Miss Bulgaria Miss Bulgaria 2000 Magdalina Vulchanova and US film director Michael Cory Davies will be among VIP guests at a charity snow show in Bansko. The ski event is taking place for a second consecutive year on April 8, starting at 1pm, on Shiligarnika, one of the most popular tracks in Bansko. The tournament is being held to promote Bulgaria’s candidacy to host the Winter Olympics in 2014, as well as to promote the special educational programme “First Chance” run by the Face to Face organisation dedicated to orphans and their future in Bulgaria. The ski tournament is open to business corporations, media outlets, famous artists, fashion industry celebrities, culture and sports figures, such as Vulchanova, who is president of Face to Face, and Davies, who made Svetlana’s Journey, a film story about people trafficking. The media partners of the event are The Sofia Echo, Bulgarian National Television, bTV, Nova TV, MM, and Planeta TV. Each will have a team participating in the event. Planeta, a pop-folk channel, said that it was arranging for pop-folk stars to take part in the event, but was not yet disclosing who they would be. There will be two categories for participants, according to age. The first category is ages 15 to 39, and the second for those older than 40. Each team will have five members, who will be entitled to two runs down the track each. The individual prizes are for best skier (man and woman), and also best snowboard (man and woman). Entry fees are 100 leva for individuals and 500 leva for corporate teams. All proceeds will go to charity. Face to Face works with five orphanages in Bulgaria.
