Two huge trams in the air over 200 meters above the ground with 100 skiers on them will meet each other between the two high peaks in Borovets every 10 minutes. Equipment like that is still missing in Bulgaria. According to the plans in 2009 this equipment will be fact in Bulgaria, announced Kalin Petrov, who is responsible for the execution of “Super Borovets” project.
Two huge cabin lifts will be constructed until 2007. The first one will lift the tourists from Low Borovets to Markudjicite and the second one will service the line Borovets- Sladka voda. 5-6 seat lifts and the same number ski drugs will be also in service of the tourists. The capacity of the equipment will be 27 300 tourists per hour. The capacity of the pistes is from 6500 to10 400 skiers.
A huge car parking will be placed nearby the main lift in Markudjicite.
The deadline for the construction of the 60 km new pistes is 2010. Each one of the pistes will be equipped with snow cannons for artificial snow, which will provide conditions even when the temperatures are higher.
The constructions of the new hotels which will host minimum 5 thousand new beds have to be finished the same year.
The resort will offer 2 golf playgrounds with 18 wholes, sport attractions, tennis courts, horse base, skating- ring and stadiums.
The inner infrastructure- inner roads, electricity will be built without the help of the government.
The construction of the new resort is planned on three stages. The first stage is till 2007 when according to the plans the tourism sites should be ready to host twice as many tourists. The infrastructure should be ready, the capacity of beds should be increased to 8000, rural and hunting tourism is also about to be developed in the region.
The second stage is from 2007 till 1010. During this period will be constructed the tourism sites in the region of Samokov, Borovets- Beli Iskar. The sport equipments should also be ready at that stage.
The third stage is until 2015. 1400 meters above the sea level will be constructed luxurious small hotels and villa sites with total capacity of 1200 beds.
The investments of the project will be 300 million euro.
