2 firms vie for Rakitovo tourist development

The Rakitovo municipality, in the Rhodope mountains, is being courted by 2 companies for the creation of a joint venture to build a tourism center.

Locally-owned Bulstartinvestment has proposed to invest 30 mln levs in a gondola lift linking Rakitovo and the Kachakov Chark area, 2 ski-tows and ski runs starting from the Golyama Styuka peak.

Ski Legend Girardelli to Open Sports Centre in Bansko

Ski legend Marc Girardelli and the municipality of Bulgaria's mountain resort Bansko will establish a joint venture for the creation of a major sports club in the town.

Nearly EUR 8 M will be invested in "Girardelli Sport Centre". The new sports centre will be constructed on an area of 9 decares.

Bulgarian firm ready to invest 30 mln euro in ski resort near Smolyan

Bulgarian company Winter Sport intends to spend some 32 mln euro on the construction of a ski resort near Smolyan, a high-altitude town located 90 km south of Bulgaria's second biggest city, Plovdiv, Dnevnik learned from company owner Kiril Asenov.

The amenities envisaged for the Perelik resort include new ski runs and related facilities and 16 lifts.

Disco Rock in Bansko

ON Saturday July 23 the July Evening Disco Rock concert will be serving up a big helping of ear candy, straight out of the 60s and 70s.
This year marks the fourth consecutive year of the festival, organised by the Bulgarian-German Tanne Hotel in Bansko, and it will be held in the Bansko stadium, which has a capacity for 10 000 fans.
