Fresh Snow, Beautiful Girls, Famous Stars – Bansko 2008/2009
Dedicated to all of you who CAN’T WAIT…
Well, once again Bansko proved to be one of the best winter resorts in Europe and the first one to officially open the winter fiesta on the slopes in Bulgaria.

Chepelare opens the ski season with 20 km ski slopes
Sport centre Chepleare has prepared a total 20 km ski slopes for the tourists this year.
One of the main slopes is “the red” and it is 3250 meters long. It will be equipped with snow cannons for artificial snow.
The other is green and is around 6 km long. Skiers will have the chance to try several shorter slopes of different difficulty.
Snowboarders will enjoy 1,2 km “red” slope with deep snow.

Heavy snowfall in Bulgaria
Heavy snowfall covered three-thirds of Bulgaria. The now cover in Sofia is 10 cm, 12 in Kyustendil.
Snow is falling on the Aleko peak in the Vitosha Mountain and in Borovets mountain resort, and along the highest parts of the mountains in Bulgaria including the Todorka peak in Bansko. Meteorologists forecast higher temperatures for the next two days, which will be followed by cold front.

Mountain rescue service announced hot lines in case of accidents in the mountain: +359 887100241, +359 749 88131.
The local authorities banned the traffic of heavy machines through the Predela pass during weekends and holidays, to provide easy access to the world famous ski resort Bansko.
