Topalov and Stoichkov Play Chess in Bansko
FIDE world chess champion Veselin Topalov and Bulgarian national football team head coach Hristo Stoichkov will play a unique chess game in the winter resort of Bansko on December 17. The event is occasioned by the official opening of the winter season in the resort. Before that, Stoichkov and Topalov, who is also the face of Standart, will slide down the Alberto Tomba ski run, to prove that they are also good at winter sports.
"The show is one hundred percent guaranteed. The Chess King confirmed he would attend the opening of the season. Stoichkov is honorary citizen of Bansko town and he will not miss the chance to challenge the world chess champion," Bansko Mayor Alexander Kravarov said yesterday. The chess battle will take place in the Tamplier Complex, whose owners granted an apartment to Stoichkov last year.
