Investors table competing projects for Dobrinishte skiing zone The municipal council of Bulgarian city Bansko said it has picked the partnership of local construction company Galchev Engineering Group and Norema Tourist Holding Company to build a skiing complex in Bansko area resort Dobrinishte. The development is an alternative to the project of another local investor, Dobrinishte Ski, which last year announced plans for a 260 mln levs skiing zone between Dobrinishte and the Bezbog peak in the Pirin mountain. The two projects have not been co-ordinated and could overlap, warned Bansko mayor Alexander Kravarov. The 300,000 sq m skiing zone proposed by Dobrinishte Ski will have 40 km of runs and 10,000 beds. After the 3-year project earned Dobrinishte Ski a First Class Investor certificate from InvestBulgaria, the local investment promotion authority, it turned out the certificate was granted before the project was issued an environment impact assessment.
