SNOW PARTY UNDER KOM PEAK

The ski slope Gorna Koriya is situated just 500 metres under the Kom peak in the Balkan mountain range. The perfectly maintained slope is serviced by a drug lift. The mountain this year surprises skiers with over 100 cm snow cover.
The official start of the new skiing season was marked just a few days ago and the slopes are already filled with the clamour of enthusiastic skiers. Music and salutes echoed in the mountain.
However the resort has its regular visitors. Numerous young skiers and tourists from Berkovitsa, Montana and even Sofia prefer the slopes under Kom peak for the natural beauty and calm atmosphere of the Stara Planina Mountain.
The mountain over Berkovitsa is lighter with easy accessible slopes and there are no registered incidents in the mountain for the past ten years. However the local mountain rescue service advices all tourists to insure themselves before climbing the mountain.
