Fresh Snow, Beautiful Girls, Famous Stars – Bansko 2008/2009

Dedicated to all of you who CAN’T WAIT…

Well, once again Bansko proved to be one of the best winter resorts in Europe and the first one to officially open the winter fiesta on the slopes in Bulgaria.
Famous skiers, beautiful dancers, unique show and unforgettable fireworks warmed up all guests and residents of Bansko in this cold and foggy November day in the Pirin Mountain.
The official opening of the skiing season in Bansko turned into a fabulous show on the slopes.
Many enthusiasts filled Banderishka polyana to meet Marc Ghirardelli, Gustavo Thoeni, Hanni Wenzel, Andreas Wenzel and Harti Weirather.
And I am sure that it was worth it, as we not only had the chance to enjoy Marc’s friendly smile, but also tried the first snow on the slopes, which was awesome.

The celebrations continued with the traditional concert with Romanetsa and Enchev, and the stars from Music Idol – Nora, Toma, Yasen and Denitsa next to the first station of the gondola lift.

It was a pleasant surprise to me to find Bansko very well prepared and all cleaned up, to meet all friends and visitors. This time the local authorities worked hard to arrange most of the discomforts that bothered us last season. All the streets and pedestrian zones are perfectly cleaned and the traffic to the gondola lift is well organized.

And of course, I can’t miss the food – one of the best places in Bulgaria to try traditional and delicious organic food that goes so well with these dark red quality wines. We highly recommend you to visit one of the traditional local taverns, as it is an experience of a lifetime.

The weather conditions and the snow forecasts promise a great winter season for Bansko and we hope to meet you again on the slopes in Bulgaria.
