Latest News from Pamporovo *Information provided by Frances & Nigel Watson, Four Seasons Retreat, Momchilovtsi! Latest news from Pamporovo is that the ski runs have been worked on all summer, two slopes have been widened to include the run down to Stoikite. A further ski run will be lit this season for night skiing and electric boards are planned to be implemented throughout the slopes. The lift prices will not be increased this year. Electronic ticket machines will be implemented for speed and no more building permissions will be given on the slopes. The Municipality will be reducing the number of portable buildings on the slopes and increasing regulation. Last, but not least, there is a new Billa Supermarket located on the main road in and although this is quite small a larger store is being built at the far end of the pedestrian precinct and will be completed shortly. Further good news is that Ryanair are now flying into Plovdiv Airport cutting the transfer journey to Pamporovo in half. Instead of the transfer journey being 3.5 hours from Sofia airport it is now under 2 hours. And, if that was not enough, the border crossing into Greece via Zlatograd opened at the beginning of the year. You can be dipping your toes in the Aegean Sea in just over 2 hours – door to beach. So this means additional extras for you, a shorter transfer time and a chance to enjoy the spectacular beauty of the Rhodope Mountains and enjoy a dip in the Aegean Sea in Greece.
