Heavy snowfall by the end of the day across Bulgaria

Smolyan and the Rhodope region record heavy snowfall. The snow cover in the lowest parts of the mountain has reached 10 cm. Meteorologists forecast more snow across Bulgaria until the end of the day.

It will be snowing in Blagoevgrad region, Sofia, Pazardjik, Plovdiv, Sliven and Kazanlak-Stara Zagora.

Significant snow cover is expected in the highest parts of the country, including Sofia region in the Northwestern regions.
The Rilo-Rhodopean region will record considerable snowfall which will form a fresh snow cover. This process will be caused by a Mediterranean cyclone which will reach the southern parts of the Balkan peninsula.
