The new ski season 2012 – 2013 in all Bulgarian mountain resorts gets underway on December 15th.

Bansko, Borovets and Pamporovo resorts are already enjoying high occupancy and the hotels promise to provide their guests with the best rates possible.

Tourists can enjoy special discounts on long stays or for early bookings made before the end of November.

The prices of the lift cards and ski equipment is usually announced right before the start of the season, Pamporovo already announced that the prices in the resort will stay the same. According to the expectations Bansko and Borovets will also keep the old rates of ski services.

What are the preparations and events for the new winter season in the Bulgarian ski resorts?

Bansko ski resort
The ski company which maintains the ski facilities in Bansko assures that all 17 pistes will be opened as soon as the temperature drops sufficiently.

Bansko is ready with the calendar of winter events for the upcoming year, such as FIS races and other ski and snowboard competitions in the Pirin mountain.

Pamporovo ski resort
The triple chairlift from Malina to Studenets will be renovated and it will become faster. A new green run will be constructed from Snezhanka to Stoikite village. The main tourist slope in the resort will be illuminated. The resort will host a round of the European ski cup for a second consecutive year. Pamporovo will also welcome the world ski teachers championship.

Borovets ski resort
The resort will improve the artificial snow making system, as well as the fun park for the new winter season. This is part of a major investment program for 40 million Euro that has started back in 2006.

The artificial snow making system at ski zone Sitnyakovo (the central ski slopes in front of the Rila hotel) will be developed. New cannons for artificial snow will be installed everywhere in the resort.

For a third year in a row, the resort authorities will continue developing the newest attraction in the resort – Borosport Snow Park. The snow park will offer additional elements and configurations for beginners. It will be serviced by tow drag lifts.

Vitosha mountain
“Vitosha Ski” have announced that Sofia citizens and visitors will also be able to enjoy their favourite winter sport on Vitosha mountain. Ski lifts are still not operating due to temporary maintenance, but are scheduled to start soon. Everyone is waiting with anticipation for the season to start on time.
