PANICHISHTE - POTENTIAL RIVAL OF BANSKO

Businessmen are bidding for Panichishte, the only mountain resort in southwestern Bulgaria that has not been touched by developers. The idea is to transform the town where buildings mostly date back to socialist times, into a modern resort centre, a match to Bansko ski resort. Two hotel complexes, a holiday village, sports facilities and a restaurant will be built at the foot of the Rila Mountains.
The land and the stadium will be sold at tenders, strict meeting of deadlines will be required, Sapareva Bania Municipality decided.
The sale of the first five sites, a total area of 10 ha, was approved a couple of days ago.
