Mrs Ivanka Bonkina:
Dobrinishte will become a year round tourism center!
Dobrinishte mountain resort is a little pearl in the heart of the Pirin Mountain. The village is unique for its magnificent unspoiled nature, picturesque views and mineral waters. This makes it an attractive site for tourism, sport and recreation all year round. Bansko municipal approved “The Idea for Development of Dobrinishte mountain resort” on 09.06.2006. This decision was provoked by numerous investment proposals from companies wishing to invest in the resort. %LIMG5BulgariaSki team went to Dobrinishte to see how the projects are being developed. We received more information on the subject thanks to the kind cooperation of the mayor of Dobrinishte Village, Ivanka Bonkina. The concept of the ski zone Dobrinishte was prepared by Mr. Emil Lekov. It compounds the construction of a cabin wire lift from Dobrinishte village to Gotse Delchev Chalet. Another four wire lifts will service the ski zone. The ski zone itself will offer five new pistes with a total length of 40 kilometers. This part of the mountain offers great conditions for mass skiing tourism, as the mountain relief is suitable both for easy and hard slopes. This part of the mountain offers many sunny days and excellent skiing conditions from the beginning of December to the end of April. The ski center will be conditionally spread on two levels: 1. The lower level will be situated form Dobrinishte village to Gotse Delchev chalet. The lands, which will be included in this part are now owned by National Forest Fund, which allows the sooner start of the execution of the project. 2. The highest part of the ski zone will reach Bezbog chalet and will be on 2500 meters above the se level. This part will entirely be included in the borders of the National park Pirin. The highest part of Dobrinishte ski zone will be connected to Bansko ski zone by a brand new cabin lift and thus will provide excellent choice for tourists wishing to explore the beauties of the Pirin Mountain. Until that moment three serious offers have been submitted in Bansko municipal, from companies wishing to invest in the project. - The first consortium is Grand Consult Joint Stock Company and North investment Inc. - “Galchev Engineering Group” Joint Stock company, “Feral TK” Ltd and Building Group construction Ltd. - “Sunset resorts” Ltd. which already works on the territory of Dobrinishte. They are managing Bezbog and Gotse Delchev Chalets, the local Hotel Dobrinishte and the now existing lift to the local ski zone. They have made an offer for the full development of the project. Bansko municipal has already made four meetings, discussing the development of the project. Three of the meetings were organized with each of the investor companies individually. The chosen company will have to develop and execute all of the engineering plans for the ski zone, in accordance to the already approved concept for development of the region. This September it will become clear, which one of the companies will be chosen to execute the project. At the same time the local authorities plan to increase the bed capacity of the resort. All of the new accommodation complexes will be situated in Dobrinishte. A new General Structural Plan will be prepared to define the different zones in order to control the construction works in the resort. Dobrinishte mountain resort is already preparing for the enlargement of the local ski zone. The local mineral baths are being reconstructed to offer better quality service. A private contractor is renewing the local mineral swimming pools. Another high standard complex is now being constructed at the entrance of the village. The complex will offer numerous spa procedures together with additional entertainment to the tourists visiting Dobrinishte. The development of the ski zone in Dobrinishte will have huge impact to the local residents, who are now living in stagnation due to the high unemployment.

the pirin mountains are beautiful..linking bansko and dobrinishte areas in a sympathetic manner will enhance the area for skiiers and the local population alike..more pistes are needed but if developed correctly bansko will more than rival the best in the alps...more than worth a visit..i now find val d,isere quite depressing in comparisson..enjoy!
