A trekking tour in Rila mountain Rila mountain is one of the most impressive and beautiful mountains in Bulgaria. It is the highest mountain in Bulgaria and the whole Balkan Peninsula. The highest point of the mountain is Mousala peak (2925 m).  The most visited part of the mountain is northwestern Rila, where the circus with the popular seven Rila lakes is situated. %RIMG1The Rila lakes site can be easily reached from Panichishte mountain resort via a new chair lift reaching the Rila Lakes hut. The chair lift ride costs 15 BGN in both directions and 10 BGN for just one direction. Tourists can also use the services of a off road jeeps at the same price. The walk up to the first lake, Dolnoto Ezero (”The Lower Lake”) is consistently spectacular, the air is fresh and the nature is bursting with colour. The hike starts through forest and then moves onto rocky paths interspersed with streams as we made it up above the tree line. The second lake, Ribnoto Ezero (”The Fish Lake”), takes you up to this mountain refuge and mesmerizing mountain lake reflections. Up follow lakes three, Trilistnika (”The Trefoil”), and four, Bliznaka (”The Twin”), and from the path stunning views open up looking down on these lakes, as you climb the steep hill above lake number five, Babreka (”The Kidney”) up towards number six, Okoto (”The Eye”) and seven, Salzata (”The Tear”). %LIMG13 %RIMG15 %LIMG8%RIMG14
