Two huge trams in the air over 200 meters above the ground with 100 skiers on them will meet each other between the two high peaks in Borovets every 10 minutes. Equipment like that is still missing in Bulgaria. According to the plans in 2009 this equipment will be fact in Bulgaria, announced Kalin Petrov, who is responsible for the execution of “Super Borovets” project.

Bulgaria is 2014 Winter Olympics Candidate
The government of Bulgaria approved the motion to submit Sofia’s candidacy for the Winter Olympics in 2014.
Sofia will officially submit its candidacy within a month to the International Olympic Committee. The deadline is July 28.
Bulgaria would use two winter resorts - Bansko and Borovets - for ski events.

The pistes in Pirin are ready

Bansko is ready with its pistes for the possible host of the winter Olympics in 2014, announced the mayor of the municipal Alexander Kravarov. They are already licensed from the world ski federation. Folklore festival in Smolyan
International folklore “Orpheus’ holidays” will start on June 17th (Friday). The official opening of the festival will be at 7.00 PM in the Amphitheater of the new center with a concert of the children folklore ensemble “Orpheus”. On the next day all the participants will process along the main street of Smolyan.
