Entering Bulgaria after January 29th only with a PCR test

Effective from 29 January 2021, all arrivals to Bulgaria, no matter their point of departure, must show documentary evidence of a negative PCR test taken in the 72 hours before departure.
Bulgarian government advice is that Bulgarian citizens and foreign nationals with valid residence permits, as well as their family members, who do not present such a document must self-isolate for 10 days.
Exemptions include: bus and lorry drivers, crews of vessels and aircraft, border workers and those transiting through the country. This measure is currently scheduled to be in place until 30 April 2021.

The current State of Epidemic Emergency in Bulgaria has now been extended until 30 April 2021. The Bulgarian government has introduced additional measures from 1 February until 30 April 2021.
Until 30 April:
• Wearing a face mask remains mandatory in all indoor public spaces, as well as in outside public spaces where maintaining a physical distance of 1.5 metres is not possible. It will no longer be permitted to use face shields, scarfs or other face cover instead of a mask. Exceptions to this are clients at dining and drinking establishments (although these establishments remain closed until 1 March); those exercising indoors and outdoors; participants in conferences, congresses, etc. when delivering speeches; and hosts and guests in TV programmes. Children up to the age of 6 are also exempt from this measure.
From 1 February:
• All establishments in shopping malls can reopen.
• Gyms can reopen, using no more than 50% of their capacity. The visitors must maintain a distance of at least 2 metres.
• From 1 March, restaurants and entertainment establishments, except for discos, bars, piano bars, and night bars, can reopen using up to 50% of their venue capacity. There must be a distance of 1.5 metres between the backs of chairs on two adjacent tables and staff must wear face masks.
