Chepelare resort to get extreme skiing run
A new piste for extreme skiing and snowboarding will added for the 2006/2007 winter season in Bulgarian mountain resort Chepelare, in the Rhodopi mountain. The new 4.5 km facility will extend the overall length of the runs in the Mechi Chal skiing area to 22 km. More information about Chepelare read here!

Bulgaria and Romania to join the EU from January 1st 2007
The head of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso welcomed the peoples and authorities of both Bulgaria and Romania for their efforts to meet the requirements for membership in the EU.
He announced the official approval of both countries in the organization. The conclusion of the commission is that Bulgaria and Rumania are ready to take on the rights and obligations for EU membership.

2 new ski runs built in Chepelare
Over 100,000 levs have been invested in the 2 new runs constructed at the Mechi Chal ski center in Chepelare, the resort town located 80 km south of Plovdiv. The resort goes into the '05-'06 winter season with ski runs totalling 20 km. Another 28 km of runs for alpine skiing and snowboarding and 15 km of runs for cross country skiing are planned to be added over the next 2 years. The 1,000-bed resort was visited by 100,000 tourists last winter....

Bansko Municipality and Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena in Bansko organize Bansko Sport Fest 2006, which will take place in the resort on October, 6th, 7th and 8th.
