Winter Fiesta with Snowmen for the Official Opening of Ski Season 2008 in Borovets

Solemn ray and Rodopean bagpipes open the winter season in Chepelare

The official opening of the new winter season in the mountain resort of Chepelare takes place on the 21st of December in the newly opened Borika hotel. There will be a press conference in the conference hall of the hotel. Borovets Expects to be 100% Booked
Borovets mountain resort management expects the occupation of the hotels in the complex to reach 100 per cent in the 2007/2008 winter season.

More than 82 per cent of the preliminary bookings in the resort were made by foreign tour-operators, mainly from the UK. Numerous tourists from Russia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Serbia and Macedonia were also expected.

The Future of Vitosha

The entire lift net on Vitosha will be reconstructed by a company, closely related to Ulen, which maintains the ski zone in Bansko.

One lift card will be used for all of the lifts in Vitosha. For the first time tourists and skiers will be able to use the lifts with one card, after the equipment in the mountain is is now managed by one owner – “Vitosha Ski” JSC.
