We have recently returned from my second stay at the Iglika having stayed in one of their tiny 3* rooms I upgraded this time to their larger 4*room. We will not be returning! The room smelt damp when I arrived and was so hot I could hardly breathe! The heating is turned off over night and also turned off during the day time so if you're not skiing it can get really cold. The hotel pool is only open after 4, the staff would not open it earlier even though we couldn't ski because there wasn't any snow, it is also really slippery around the sides, take care! Watch out for falling lamp shades (nearly smashed onto my 3 yr old!), hanging out sockets and also the leaking roof! The staff don't like complaints and rarely bother dealing with any problems. Food ok and waiting staff friendly. Suppose you get what you pay for!

I stayed in Iglika last year and liked it so much I'm going again on Sat, bringing an extra 6 people. Can't wait!! For the "negative commenters" on this and the borovets site - If you've got nothing nice to say, shut up and stay home!

Fantastic value for money. Very close to slopes & all ameneties. Best food of all hotels - we compared with others on our package. Cheapest drinks in whole resort 1 lev for soft drinks & 2 levs for beer. Great family room - v spacious & great views. High spec bathroom. Mind head when getting out of lift in basement - height of beam is about 5'6". Husband got cracked head. Very friendly staff. Good massage. Pool cloudy - kids refused to go in after first time - Rila pool much better. Would go back next year but sold out for our dates so off to Samokov insted.

my mate and stayed in the room right above the cop shop in feb 04, we had no problems, food was good, rooms were good, staff were frendly, in fact we went to italy 05 (soux) and the rooms were crap, so well done to all at the iglika. going to bansko in jan 06, but we will be back in borovets and it will be to the iglika. keep up the good work, all the best from bonny scotland.

Just come back from 6 days skiing staying at the Iglika. I AM a bit of a snob but here the staff are fabulous, service is fabulous, the hotel is small and friendly whilst still being a hive of activity for 'apres ski'. The restaurant is buffet for both breakfast and dinner, you cannot fail with either of these meals, the choice is great, both hot buffet, salad buffet and desert. Only draw back is coffee is only available at breakfast, so for the evening you have to buy it, but at about 1.50 lev it doesn't break the bank. I was with a party of six, age's ranging from 17 to 44 everyone was happy. The hotel is always warm and welcoming after a day on the slops. We extended our room (arranged through our rep) as check out is 12 noon and when your not leaving the resort till 6pm, 40 lev isn't a lot to spend to get showered and changed. We booked with Inghams, they were excellent too. Our ski instructor was a local chap named Dan, thanks to him we all skiied well and enjoyed our holiday immensely. Met wonderful people whilst out there, Julie, if you're reading this, get in touch please. Will be returning to Borovets and to the Iglika, hopefully again this season if not, definately next season.

Stayed at this hotel 3/1/04 - 10/1/04. On arrival we were shown to our room which was not much bigger than a shoe box, which became a problem during the week for storing all our ski gear. All the pics ive seen in the brochures are very misleading! The room was clean though, and the maids came in every day to clean and tidy up. The food, which is always served cold, is best avoided. The advertised 'fitness room' only consist of an old exercise bike, stepper and a small weight bench. We also found the hotel staff unhelpful and they rarely smile! It is a cheap hotel and you definatley only get what you pay for!!!!
