The skiers in Borovets will be carried by escalator Skiers coming down from the region of “Markudjitsite” in Borovets will be carried by an escalator to the cable cabin car. The news was reported in front of “Standart” daily by Mr. Rossen Milkov, head of the “T-trust engineering” company, that realizes the investment program of the “Borosport” concessionary company in the oldest winter resort in Bulgaria. The escalator 190 meters it will be the longest in Europe and the second longest in the World. It will cost 200 000 Euro. This winter Borovets will offer a winter kindergarten. It will be situated on the central Plats 3 and will be spread on 2 decares. It will be equipped with 2 children escalators and numerous rubber toys, for children to work around with ski. It will cost 150 000 Euro. Well trained instructors will teach children to ski from 10 AM till 4 PM. Two brand new snow maintenance machines will take care of the good condition on the slopes. The executive director of “Borosport” Petar Popangelov, announced that the new skiing season will be officially opened on December 23d with a spectacular night show.

    Excellent news! The only drawback I have ever found skiing in Borovets was the hike back up to the gondola at the end of the day.
