Location: The hotel complexes Bor and Edelweiss are the first built hotels in Borovets mountain resort. They are situated in the old center of the resort around 600 m or 10 minutes walking from the ski centre.

The hotel was not full so not sure why we were put in a room with a ceiling with leaks in 2 places. Fortunately it was not over a bed and to be honest once we had done a days skiing we were too tired to contemplate asking to be moved,but it wasn't really in the hotels interests. The staff were very friendly and helpful. And the room was warm clean and had lots of hot water.

We enjoyed the informal nature of this hotel, and the walk up to the skiing was pleasant enough, and not a chore. The hotel is situated in lovely, picturesque surroundings, but the steps to the long. steep front footpath are really rather dodgy and in need of repair. Also the web site says there's a bath in the bedrooms, but we only had a shower - not quite the same if you need a good soak to ease the aches and pains of the day!

We stayed at the Hotel Bor in February 2008. We had a suite with a separate bedroom for my 2 teenage girls and found this worked very well. The hotel was basic but clean with change of bedding 3 times in a week and plenty of clean towels. The food was fine; not fantastic but there was always something for all of us. The location was great, just far enough away from the town to be peaceful. A taxi was only 10 lev (about £4) from the main areas or 10 minutes walk. The staff were warm and friendly; they couldn't do enough for us. My only minor critisism was the 'live music' in the evening with dinner - unecessary and the same very night. Also, we found that the bar area was often too cool and not very cosy. Saying that, we will return next year; the skiing was fantastic.

I stayed at the Bor hotel Feb 2007 and thought it was brilliant value. The hotel was clean and warm. The food was great and the whole decor of the hotel was great. There was plenty of hot water and towels!. I am looking to book to go again, and would like to stay at the Bor.

Stayed at the Edelweiss in january 07. Good all round hotel, the walk to the town is only about 15 minutes but after a few days of walking up and down it feels like longer! We also dreaded the breakfast as it was the same everyday but the evening meal was very nice and variable. The hotel bar is very good, big range of different drinks and friendly staff. Rooms were clean and warm.

We stayed in a studio on the 4th floor between 27 Jan - 3 Feb 2007 at the Bor Hotel, Borovets. Overall the hotel offers excellent value for money. Our studio had 4 beds (double and a bunk bed), TV, Make-up table, a table and 4 chairs, fridge and sink, bathroom, clothing area and balcony. The room was enormous. The decor was a sort of peachy colour but allright. Maids cleaned our room everyday. Food was good. The breakfast offered the usual continental selection of ham and cheeses etc, toast, bread, biscuits, nutella, fruit, cereal and there was also a hot selection of fried eggs, boiled eggs, sausage, bacon, fried bread, waffles etc. The evening meal also had a good variety of courses, again the usual salad or soup started, a selection of meat or vegetarian dishes for the main course and a selection of cakes for dessert. The only downside to this hotel is the location. It is either a 10 minutes walk to the slopes or a 5 minutes taxi ride (10lev). However a bonus is it is very quite which is something the Rila was not (a friend stayed there and found it very noisy as opposite all the bars).

A boring little hotel stuck out of sight and definitely out of mind. Food often Cold and repetitive. Rooms basic and damp. Staff helpful but thats just to break their boredom at working in such a shit hole ! 3 stars are 4 stars too many !

this is a very friendly hotel, staff a very helpfull, rooms a very comfortable and clean, there is a good chioce of food something for everyone, only a short walk to the slopes just far enough to get the legs going again, or there are always taxis waiting out side. in all a very pleasent stay.
