Location: Ela Hotel is situated in the central part of Borovets resort, just 100 m from the cabin lift to Yastrebets and the peak of Musala and it is 300 m away from the ski drag lifts. The hotel is located close to the ski school meeting point.
Hotel Ela is a small and cosy hotel, offering a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy an exciting skiing holiday in Bulgaria. The distinguishing pyramidal building is easy to remember on the outside. The hotel offers a comfortable accommodation at a very reasonable price and is now one of the most popular small hotels in Borovets.
Accommodation: Hotel Ela offers 20 single rooms, 52 double rooms and 4 cosy apartments. All guestrooms provide free Wi-Fi access, cable TV, private bathroom facilities, hairdryer, telephone, mini-bar, soundproof frames card electrical installation, and option for an extra bed or a child’s bed.
The rooms on the first floor have balconies whereas the western hotel side offers a panorama of the centuries-old pine forest.
Wine and dine: Hotel Ela has been an arena of memorable events such as festivals, graduation balls, weddings, baptism parties and company parties. The restaurant can accommodate 130 seated guests.
Guests can relax with a refreshing drink at the bar with a fireplace.

Visited the Ela Hotel from the 12th to the 19th January 2008. The Hotel is very clean and the rooms have certainly been updated since the photos have been put on the site, they are clean, modern and even have a power shower. Hot water for the shower never seems to be a problem, there was always enough for us to have a hot shower at any stage of the day. The Hotel maids are very efficient, nothing went missing from the hotel at all despite me managing to leave my mobile phone on the bedside table a few times. Hotel television had a few English channels, Zone Thriller, BBC News, SKY News and Real Estate TV. The Hotel staff were all ok, some better than others, some of them can be a little grumpy but I put that down to a lack of English speaking. Bar was amazing, a selection of 25 cocktails on 'buy one get one free' every night from 8pm to 1am. Rough cost of the cocktails was 8lv (£3.17) so very good value. Food at the Hotel was the main problem however this seems to be a hotel wide problem for Borovets and Bugaria in general. Food is mainly luke warm at best. Mainly a selection of potatoe, a meat and veg. There are some really great Restuarants in Borovets if you decide to eat out. I would advise skipping breakfast (especially if you have been drinking the night before) as I personally thought the food served for breakfast was appalling. I would certainly go back to the Hotel Ela, on our return journey we were delayed and put up in the Rila and the only difference was that you had a bath, infact I'd say that although the room at the Rila was bigger it certainly was no better.

I was twice in this wonderful hotel and during the two winters I spent over there I felt excellent. I had a great time fullfiled with a lot of activities inside my room, inside my hotel and of course outside. I will definetely go this year too!

Just arrived back after a week at the Ela. I thought it was great. The hotel is very warm and friendly with a lovely atmosphere in the lounge/bar area. Great cheap cocktails all night too. The food is not dire as some have described. The meals are luke-warm since that is a Bulgarian custom but there's a microwave for you to 'nuke' food and it's red-hot after 1 min! There was quite a variety at evening meals. The pork dishes were delicious and they serve a boiled potato in a tomato sauce which is really tasty. There is usually a few choices and you can return for more. I've a big appetite and the pork soup was so filling I couldn't manage a main course. Dessert is cake and is pretty bland but the fresh fruit is good. Breakfasts are fab if you like fried/scrambled eggs on hot toast with delicious plum tomatoes. The coffee is strong and kept me awake on the slopes all day! There are cereals too. The rooms are very basic and used but steaming hot...you'll need the window open! Also, plenty of hot water at shower time....great after a day on the slopes. Me and my 20 friends had a great group holiday here. Hotel a little walking distance from the nursery slopes but 2 mins from the gondola if you're heading for the upper slopes where the snow is best...a different world up there! Enjoy your stay at the Ela...I wouldn't hesistate to stay there again.

I have stayed at this hotel twice now and we are thinking of going back a third next year. Very pleasant stay was had by us and our 3 children, with the staff very friendly and helpful. Found this year that we were much more better situated for the gondola, also the bar area is very clean and always feels cosy later on in the day with the roaring log fire always alight!

Have stayed at the Ela with my family 5 times. Each time we've stayed over the Feburary half-term. The staff are always friendly and the rooms warm and comfortable. We particulary like the larger rooms with balconys. The bar area has changed slightly over the years and in my opinion is not as cozy at it used to be. That said, the staff are again always friendly and the kids always enjoy getting their chocolate milkshakes from there and it still a nice place to end the evening with or without the children. The saunas and fitness room are also a nice addition. The restaurant staff again are friendly and the food is always plentiful and better than in some of the larger hotels (from what we hear!)We intend to return next year. Excellent value for money.

The hotel is basic but has all you require in the rooms the staff are friendley speak good english The water is aways hot which is more than can be said about the larger hotels the best bit is the bar which is open 24 hrs which is great if you arrive at 2 in the morning & just want to unwind from the travel The bar staff who are always happy to help & assist even to advise on other bars to go to special thanks go to George , mario 9AKA the cocktail man ) & leon who will make any stay memorable

Nice little hotel - it 'does the job'! Two minutes walk away from gondola ski lift and close to everything else! Cosy lobby bar which is great for chilling out in after a long day skiing and for pre-dinner drinks. The restaurant is uninspiring and dull and the evening meal food selection is dire. Breakfast selection ok though. BEWARE: The hotel doesn't allow storage of your own skis/board which we didn't find out 'til it was too late. I'd stay there again.
