Hotels are growing like mushrooms in Bansko
The mayor is writing a program for protection of the green sites!
30 new complexes are going to be constructed, 10 000 guests are expected next season!
Every new building in Bansko is a hotel. The homes of the local people are getting harder and harder to notice. “Very soon our houses will be less than the hotels”.
Just 50 meters from the starting position of the cabin lift in Bansko is situated the newest and luxurious complex in the resort “Kempinski Grand Arena”. It was found three days ago, the ribbon was cut by the President Georgi Parvanov together with one of the owners of the chain Reto Vitver. “I believe in the success of this initiative. The hotel will give its contribution for the good name of the Bulgarian Tourism and for its fast entering in the European Union,” said the head of the country. The posh hotel is in a typical Alpine architectural style. It is a wonderful ensemble of five buildings, which take a total area of 23 thousand square meters. The hotel can welcome 340 guests in its 132 rooms and 27 apartments.
A special system for noise isolation makes the stay in the hotel pleasant and cosy. The rooms offer terrace, and air conditioners, radiators, mini bars and even wireless internet access. The first class restaurants and bars offer attractive international cuisine and classy drinks.
A real hit among the guests is the SPA center “Zalez”, where the guests can enjoy Tai massages and body therapies. A roman bath and “the secret lady bath tub”, solarium, hamam, steam bath, Jacuzzi, swimming pool, an open air swimming pool with hot water, are among the services that pamper Kempinski’s guests. The interest towards the town is huge. This winter the resort will offer 8000 beds, next year they will be 10 000. A new five star hotel will be ready 2006- 2007. The mayor Alexander Kravarov will offer the restriction of the construction works in the town. These offers have to be accepted by the municipal council and than by the Ministry of regional development. “Our goal is to restrict the number of floors and the density of constructing. We insist that just 30% of the area can be constructed and the rest to be free green sites.” The mayor wants 10 million BGN for the deciding of the infrastructure problems of the resort. The municipal will offer 10 million BGN for the development of the resort as an international ski center.
