COMMENTS ON BANSKO MOUNTAIN RESORT IN BULGARIA    (167)

Also if book the Kempinski hotel next to the Bansko slope your in for real luxury, Im sure if your not the most confident skiier you may enjoy your time in the Sauna. The ski resort lacks black slopes, I belive It has 1 black slope atleast when I went there, also the Gondola lift is very over crowded in the morning, and its the only lift up the mountin so get in there early or wait for the que to pass. Locals arn't friendly or paitent either, but the Ski instructors are friendly and helpfull. I learnt to ski here, Its a small resort which suited my needs and my ski instructor was a Bulgarian olympic skier so there was plenty of experience. Intemediats would also do well here, I may have said already but dont go if your an expert skier looking for a proper challange.

From Neil from North Wales, sent on 04 February 2010 We went out to Bansko the last week of Feb. We have been going out there for four years and we were pleased to find no queue at all during the week at the gondola. And managed to beat the queue's at the weekends by going at 8.15am. Whilst there we found the most fantastic restaurant. Sireshtovata kashta, a 400 year old building hidden away down yane Sandanski street near the old church. Hot food and plenty of it, say Neil sent you! Look for the lantern's on the wall.

From Liz from Scotland, sent on 02 February 2010 Bansko has great snow altho queues are awful in the morning to get the cablecar up the mountain. However it is a holiday this week for Greece, Slovakia, and Macedonia. 5000 more people here than usual !!!!! The Lion hotel is very good. We will go to the cablecar tomorrow at 8.30 and no later.
